I've always been a bit sceptical about community spirit in general. And even more so after the emergence of the age of social networking and texting and burying our faces in laptops and smartphones, blind to what is actually happening around us in the so called real world...But I digress.

I read something last night about a new docu-film. You know docu-films like Catfish? If you have'nt seen Catfish and you are an avid user of facebook, you have to watch it...Really, it could be the difference between life and death...I'm getting off track again.

I read something last night about an upcoming docu-film entitled "Craigslist Joe". It's about a 29 year old man, named Joe (obviously) who decided to cut himself off from everyone he knows. And with the clothes he was wearing that day, a toothbrush, a laptop and a phone with no contacts, he embarks on a quest to discover the sense of community in America by living off of Craigslist.

Over 31 days, he posts adverts on the site, and relies on respondents for food and shelter amongst other things.

Needless to say, I'm eager to see how things pan out.

Perhaps a little too eager, so I posted an ad on a similar site to see how viable the idea would be in the UK.

Within the space of 3 hours, I had 32 responses. And besides the offers of fellatio, "cheap cannabis", a free puppy, and the questionable sexual propositions of eastern european woman...and men. The results were'nt as fruitful as I had hoped.

I hope Joe had more luck.
