Youre back for more? Okay. Where was I? Oh yes, the Solstice Dance..
--
Matt's friends were all patting his back, whooping anf hollering while I stood speechless. After being crowned and sashed, he grinned and winked at me. "M'lady."
I felt likr gagging. "Ugh."
"Oh, come on, one dance!" Matt insisted. Soon the crowd joined in, yelling, "ONE DANCE! ONE DANCE!" I saw Jonah in our spot hesitantly playing along.
I took his hand. "Fine."
Everyone cheered, and it was barely heard when Ms. Olsteen said it was couples dance. I saw Jonah walk back down the trail and I wanted so badly to go back down with him.
Matt put his hands around my waist, and I on his shoulders. "Dont try anything," I hear myself saying. "Or I will totally beat your ass."
He laughed. "Your feisty. Sure, but only cuz.... Because....." his voice grew hushed. "Leia, I like you. Not like a girltoy, like all my other girlfriends... I really like you. Thats why Im so desperate to get with you." He leaned his head forward so our forheads touched. "I think I love you."
I pulled away."Excuse me?!"
"I think about you a lot... And dream.. About us..."
"There is no us," I spat, backing away from his grip and into a couple. "Oh..... Um, sorry," I said embarrassed. "Bye, Matt."
I ran to the path and down it, almost crying, when I reached the clearing. "Jonah????!"
"Up here," I heard him call.
The sycamore tree.
--
Yes, I know I said not to fall in love under the sycamore tree, but thats me now, just my spirit, a ghost. I still have some influence on the material world. Like what Im doing now- controlling keys on a typewriter. I always liked antiques.
Anyways, that was the old me. The one who didnt know Id be dying soon.
--
I gripped the lowest branch, hauling myself up. "Jonah," I whispered.
His eyebrow arched. "Whats wrong?"
"That you and I arent any closer."
I crawled and fumbled through the branches over to him and he caught me in his arms. "Jonah?"
"Yeah?"
"Do me the honor of being my first kiss."
--
Awww, how romantic, you must be saying. Yes, it was. But if I hadnt said that sentence then I think a lot of this mess wouldnt have happened.
--
He paused a moment, with our foreheads together. I felt his warm, minty breath on my cheek. And I couldnt help but blush as he pressed his warm lips into mine.
I grinned as he said, "Leia, do ME the honor... Of being my girlfriend."
--
How adorable. Yet a little.... A little.... Sickening now. Not bad sick. Homesick. I miss Jonah.
Badly.
Do you know what its like to actually have a love and have him just ripped out of your life by another person?! Do you?!
Ehem. Sorry.
Back to my little tale.
--
We talked a bit more about things that happened, how we realized we felt that way about each other, for maybe twenty minutes.
I yawned, stretching out.
"Tired?" Jonah asked, grinning.
I giggled, "A little. Here, lemme text my dad and say Im with a.... A friend."
Jonah laughed. "A verryyy good friend."
"Shut up!"
I finished the text and snuggled up close to Jonah. "Lets just sleep here," he said quietly.
I yawned, already half asleep. "I second the motion!"
And soon, we were sleeping happily, up in the sycamore tree.

Now, Ill tell you what has happened so far. As for good relationships, I now had Jonah. As for bad, Sarabelle and Charlotte have grown angry at me for petty reasons, and Ally hated me because she does every damned thing Sarabelle does. Matt is pretty pissed that Im not his, but Jonahs, and Im pretty sure Lexi Keezer just straight out didnt like me from the moment we met. Thats a lot of people who are mad at me, and you get to hear how the anger grows until they treat me like a bitter enemy.
Stay tuned, young listeners.
