Ian
I tossed the shoe back on the ground, wondering if Chase did this and if so, what he looks like. I turned around, searching for any sign of Chase.
Mistake.
"IAN!" Alyssa screamed. I turned around, panicked to see her gone.
"Alyssa??" I called out into the emptiness.
And then it happened.
He had spun me around, meaning to punch me, when I caught his fist. The momentum caused him to fall on me, pushing me to the ground. I kicked his torso, causing him to flip off me and do some somersaults. I got up and looked around to see if he had hidden Alyssa somewhere when I felt a sharp pain in my ankle. Probably a pricked bush, I told myself, moving on.
I felt kind of sleepy, maybe I hadn't actually slept that long during the dream with Leia. It wasn't until I yawned when I realized it. I turned, eyelids fluttering and me almost asleep, to see the man behind me, grinning evilly. I looked down my ankle and as I collapsed on the ground, I realized he'd shot me with a sleeping dart.
--
My eyes opened slowly when I finally gained consousness. I sat up and hit my head on the top of a bunk bed. "Ow," I groaned.
Looking around, I determined I was in what I thought to be a jail cell. Were we in the abandoned jail? It was probably 3 and a half hours from Shryingsville, in Northfield.
I swung my feet over and stood up, rubbing my head. A small bathroom lay in the corner, I walked over and looked in the mirror. My normally light blue eyes were dull and just basically looked tired, my brown hair was messy, and my clothes were wrinkled. I washed my face and tried to redo my hair with my fingers. At least I felt a little better.
"Hey....?"
I turned around to see another guy on the top bunk. He looked really groggy and... Hurt? Yes, that was the expression on his face.
"Ian," I said, holding out a hand.
He looked at it for a second, then shook it. "Carlisle," he yawned.
"Do you know how we got here?" I asked hushed in case Chase was watching us.
He nodded. "When his dad died, he got mad and blamed anyone who couldve told the police." he paused. "Maybe 15 of us?"
"What?" I thought out loud. "That can't be right, Calvin raped like 300 people."
Carlisle shivered. "his parents did drugs, abused him, starved him... He had a really rough life, and he couldn't take it anymore. He started I think 20 years ago, when he was like 17."
"oh." I shuddered, "Gross. What exactly is Chase trying to do?"
"Well," Carlisle continued. "Once he finds who turned in Calvin, hes releasing the others and hitting that person where it's hardest in their life, whether it be family, school, spouses....." his voice trailed off. He hopped off the bed and pulled me close. "Promise not to tell anyone this?" I gulped and nodded. He proceeded so quietly I could barely hear him.
"I was the one who did it."

I took a sharp breath inward. "What?!" I said in disbelief.
"Shhhh!" Carlisle yelled. He had a tear in his eye. "You don't want to know."
I thought for a moment. "Okay," I gave in. "I'll believe you." I paused, maybe for a little too long. "What're you gonna do if he finds out?"
"I guess I'll have to take the punishments."
Thats terrible, I thought to myself. "So, uh.." I mumble out, then turn to him, remembering. "Would you know where girls' cells are?"
"You've got a girl..?" Carlisle said in disbelief.
My face grew red. "Hey!"
"No, it's just... Nothing."
I laughed half heartedly and nervously. "Okay..."
"What's she like?" Carlisle asked, sitting on the bunk bed.
"Her names Alyssa," I find myself telling him. "She has blonde hair just past her shoulders and always wears it up in a side ponytail or loose bun under a fedora."
He nodded. "Sounds nice."
I swallowed, my throat was dry. "Blue-green eyes and fair but not too fair skin. Shes taller, like 5'10". And shes really smart, talented, and kind and funny."
"Sounds like you're really worried about her," Carlisle concluded.
I nodded. "Is there anyway to see her?"
"Yeah," he nodded. "During meals. And it's almost lunch," he said, looking at the clock.
I made a face. "Not interested in trying the cuisine here.
--
When we walked into the lunchroom, the first thing I noticed was that there were cameras EVERYWHERE. The "food" was what looked to be hotdogs but I seriously didn't want to take my chances. I gave it to this burly guy named Dave.
I finally spotted Alyssa, and I made my way over to her table. And of course, right when I went to sit down, some other thug sat down.
"Hey there," he said to Alyssa and her friends. "We should go back to my cell."
I raised an eyebrow, holding in a laugh. Picking up chicks in jail? Lame..
"Well that all sounds.... Utterly disgusting." Alyssa made a face. "Even so, I have a boyfriend and he's here."
"Oh really?" the bug guy said.
I sighed and smirked. "Yeah, me. But please don't kick my ass because your muscles are like the size of my head."
He laughed, kind of a pity laugh. "No, she couldn't be dating a little chump like you."
"But I am," Alyssa uttered what was kind of like a laugh.
He looked confused, then turned to me. "Looks like we're gonna have a little competition here."

Ian
"Uhh," I stammered nervously. "What- what kind of competition??"
"Whoever wins will get the girl!" his voice boomed.
Alyssa facepalmed. "This is SO not happening."
"Yeah!" Catherine yelped. Why not me!"
"I don't like short girls," the guy said.
Catherines face grew red and she turned to Frankie and their boyfriends for comfort. I laughed at this display.
"Okay," I sigh. "What type of competition is this already??"
"Um.... I don't know. How about we choose someone to be the regulator?"
"No ones fighting or anything of the sort," A tall skinny man walked through the door. His black hair was slicked back and he was pale. "Or, leaving. Not until I find out who killed my father."
Alyssa looked at me with wide eyes and whispered "Chase."
"Out of so many girls and probably many children, he chose to stay with me." Chase yelled. "Whoever killed him is cruel!"
"Whoever killed himis smart " the guy next to Alyssa coughed.
Chase narrowed his eyes and snapped, and two bouncers grabbed him and took him away. I proceeded to sit down and Alyssa grabbed my hand under the table.
"Anyone else?" Chase grinned.
"Yeah," familiar voice shouted. "I did it."
It seemed as though the whole cafeteria looked over.
It was Carlisle.
--
Chase grinned evilly. "You must be brave."
Carlisle kept his jaw locked but his eyes widened in fear when he saw Chase pull out the gun. I couldn't look, I hated deaths..
I heard a shot but was surprised to hear glass breaking. I looked up, confused.. To see someone had knocked Chase out and the bullet was misfired at a window.
"Come on," I gasped, getting an idea.
I pulled a table over to the window and punched through the rest of the glass. I'm sure everyone would notice after they stopped this whole anarchy crap or whatever. Alyssa and her friends went through, then me, and I think the boyfriends were behind me. Luckily a tree was right outside the window. And if that bullet hadn't gotten through the glass I wouldn't have been able to take it down, the glass was probably three inches thick.
We climbed up the tree about ten feet so we could rest while everyone else was getting out. Alyssa hugged me. "Thanks," she whispered.
"Yeah," Catherine said, sighing. "I did not want to spend my whole life in there!"
I rolled my eyes. "Shut up already. Everything that comes out of your mouth is stupid."
Catherine gasped and stared at me, then proceeded down the tree, dragging the two boys with her.
"Frankie, aren't you gonna go?" I let go of an annoyed sigh.
"Nah," she smiled. "I'm gonna hang out with you two. That okay?" she looked at Alyssa. I mouthed no.
"Yeah, tots!" Alyssa grinned, but her eyes told that she didn't like my remark.
"Sorry," I mumbled.
"Wha?" Frankie asked.
"What? Oh um nothing."
"Hey Ian!" a familiar voice said.
I turned around and laughed. "Look who it is!"
