When you're laid in bed at night,
Tucked under the covers nice and tight,
You forget about the things out there;
Falling asleep without a care.
The lights go out and the moon sets in,
It permeates the curtains, and the street lights are dim.
You roll back your eyes, and lay down your head,
As you sink helplessly into your bed.
Your mind is at work, and your thoughts are vivid,
And you realise now, you were ever so timid.
You can't help it; it's part of your nature,
So you spend all your time sleeping, because it's safer.
Suddenly, sweat pours off you and drips,
Painting an icy deep blue on your lips.
Your body quakes and trembles with fear,
As you attempt to hold on to everything dear.
You're fighting so hard, your breathing's erratic,
The hairs on your arm stand up with voltage-charged static.
And now that you've realised, this isn't a dream,
The only thing left for you to do is to scream.
