The thing you have to remember about things that are better in the short term, is that its short term, meaning whatever joy it gives you, it won't last long. It'll probably make things more difficult in the long term to!
Now the long term, that's a different story. It'll be a challenge to keep a promise, or a routine that may not be satisfying in the short term, but, in the long run, it'll last longer, (it's in the word) you'll also look back without regret, and have a sense of achievement.
So. Live life with a bit of perspective.
I'm a great believer in the unexpected, and hell yeah who says we can predict what happens tomorrow? But what's the harm in being ready?
I believe anything can happen, but I don't wan't to be scared, I want to be exited.
