"So how do I look” I asked Molly as I span around giving her a better view.
“You look fabulous “She said with a smile.
“Don’t you look too dressed up for school, I mean what’s with the makeup” Uncle Emmitt asked as he passed our open room door.
“It’s just lipstick, besides this is how all the kids dressed back at home!” I shouted for him to hear.
“You really do look pretty “Molly said
“You don’t look too bad yourself” I replied.
“You really think so” she asked
“Yea I mean, we are cousins after all, we must have some resemblance “I told her.
The truth is we didn’t look anything alike. Only the natural curls in our hair were similar, which I guess runs in the family. And our hair wasn’t even that similar. Molly had thin dark brown curly hair that fell a little pass her shoulders, were as my hair was thicker then hers and my long golden hair fell all the way down my shoulders, pass my back and rested neatly on my small bottom. But molly wasn’t ugly; I would say she was the second most beautiful girl I know, me being the first of curse.
“Kids your ride is here” Aunty said as she poked her head into the room.
“Wow’ she added as she hugged us.
“You two look so pretty” she shouted as she hugged us even tighter.
“Mom let go, Liz is waiting for us, and we’ll be late for school” Molly said.
“O.K, O.K” she said as she released us.
Molly and I toke one last look in the mirror, my golden hair loose and flowing freely, a light pink sparkly top that hugged my body. Matched with denim shorts and a pair of my favourite pink slippers.
A tap of lipstick and a simple pink watch around my wrist. This was truly the perfect first day outfit.
Molly however wore dark blue skinny jeans, a pretty yellow top with butterflies on it, and her hair pinned back in one. And a pair of simple yellow slippers.
We made our finishing touches and then made our way down to Molly’s best friend who would be taking us to school.
‘Hey Liz, this is my cousin I was telling you about” Molly said as we got settled in the car.
“Wow your beautiful “Liz said to me.
“Are you sure she’s related to you” Liz asked Molly before starting up the car.
“Funny” Molly smiled as she turned on the radio.
“So who are you taking to the Halloween dance” Liz asked molly.
I sat their staring though the window at the beautiful scenes we past, dropping in one or two words in the conversation when questions were directed to me, but most of all thinking about those eyes.
What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I get those eyes out my head?
I was so lost in thought that I didn’t notice we had drove into school until Molly said were here.
Molly showed me around and then showed me to my class. When it was lunch time I was so happy to leave the room, since I didn’t know anyone, and four girls in the front of the class was giving me bad looks. I horrid out the door as soon as class ended, only to get lost though. I stood there trying to decide which way to turn when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and saw a boy standing there, starring at me.
“Are you lost” The boy asked.
“I’m kind of looking for the cafeteria” I replied.
“Oh I’m heading that way, just follow me, by the way I’m Scott “he said.
“I’m Roselle” I told him.
We started walking when one of the girls who were giving me bad looks, who I suppose is his girlfriend practically grabbed the boy from me.
“What’s your problem, I was just showing her to the cafeteria!” He shouted
“Rose, there you are” Molly said as she ran up to me.
“Thanks for trying to show me the way” I said to the boy and then quickly followed Molly.
I sat around a table near the window with all Molly’s friends. They seem nice, they kind of remind me of my friends, who I miss so much.
“Kay, here comes the McKenzie’s” Liz pointed as she screamed.
“They’re so handsome “someone else said, but I was too busy looking at the two hot guys to even hear them.
“Who’s the girl” I asked Liz, she seemed to know all the juicy gossips.
“Oh, that’s their sister “she told me.
“She’s quite beautiful isn’t she“Molly said.
“But not as pretty as you” Molly added when she saw I was starring at the girl.
Molly was rite, she wasn’t as pretty as me, but she came this close. I might be just a tip prettier.
My phone started to ring, so I took it out, only to be told that phones aren’t allowed during school hours. And it’s Kate calling too. I’ll just have to take the call in the bathroom.
I got up and started to search for the bathroom, I couldn’t find it and Kate was calling me again. So I ducked in a corner and took the call.
“So!” Kate shouted from the other side of the phone.
“I miss you so much” I said as a tear escaped onto my cheek.
“I miss you too” she replied. I could hear the sadness in her voice.
“Who’s their talking on a phone” I heard someone say.
“Kate I got to go, call you latter” I said quickly before snapping my phone off and shoving it in my pocket.
“I’m sorry, I was just ….. “I started to say, but when I saw the figure standing in front of me, I froze. All my scenes stopped working and my breathing came to a Holt.
