My eyes bug out. Tessa screams. Kat drops her chicken MacNuggy. I gasp for breath.
"Hey! What do you think your doing?" a cashier yells. I want to turn around to see this man (or woman) but I can't. I hear Keleb gasp in shock, and I guess the person pulled out a gun. What kind of gun? Wait, what's a gun? What happened to the cashier? Is he calling 922? Wait, it's 811. What...? I'm confused now.
I'm strugling not to faint now. My lungs feel like their going to explode. My eyes dart to Tessa, but her eye's are closed, and she's breathing hard. Probably not to faint and to think about what's happening. I squeek something unaudible to her, but that's nothing. Tessa doesn't open her eyes. I see her mouth moving really quick, like she's whispering. That's it! She's praying.
I slide my eyes to Keleb. He's moving his mouth, and his cheeks are red, but I barely hear anything. A throbbing in my ears drowns out everything. I start shaking, eyes begging Keleb for something. He does nothing, just his mouth moves faster and he gets more red. he slowly stands up, banging his fist at the table. Why is he doing that? Isn't that something people do when their happy? Or sad? Mad...? What am I thinking about? What...?
My lungs are tingling inside my throat. Is that good? I can't remember. I need something. What do I need? Why can't I move my head? Why can't I remember anything? Is that normal?
I feel so tired. Maybe if I close my eyes, then maybe I can breath better... Wait. What was I just doing? It was important. I was... looking... no, begging... at... Keleb! Is he still there?
I look back at Keleb. He's jumping up and down, screaming something I can't hear. A painful, intense throbbing in my ears drowns out any noise.
I need to tell Keleb something... what? Maybe Kat knows...
My eyes glide to Kat's spot. Her chair's empty. Did she go to the restroom? Clear her tray? Wait... I don't think that's it. I spot a chicken MacNuggy laying on her plate.
I'm hungry. Wait, am I? I need oxygen! That's what I need!
I need it. Fast. My lungs are about to colapse. It's killing me. Literally killing me. I need air. Oxygen. Right now. I'm going to die.
I make a squeaky sound. I'm about to die. My eyes run around, from Tessa, Keleb, to Kat's empty seat... Where's Kat? I'll die not knowing...
I'm tired. Strangly tired. Who needs air? Oxygen? I've lived a life. An adventurous one. I can die right now. Who cares?
Summer. Kat. Tessa. Keleb.
Keleb picks up the chicken MacNuggy on Kat's plate and throws it at the person squeezing my neck.
My eyes close.
BOOM!!!!! A giant, eardrum- shattering boom echoes throughout MacRonald's. I hear painful, bloodcurtling scream. A hand falls off my neck. I gasp for oxygen, unable to process what just happened.
Somebody just shot sonebody.
