The Earth rolls evermore, its diurnal course stirring
Alluring the tempest, the ice-tipped blast from the savage north
Though waves of frenzied motion defy an icebound existence
Though the frail become forlorn, unable to cast off the perishing chill and their gauntly forms
Though the verve and the blithe now rest in motionless ruin
This savagery, its dominion
Is beyond judgement
Just a fragment
Of the unfolding universe
White night-frost, armour-clad bombards his window
Lonely stars, lonesome shine through
A snow-screen spanning, spinning night-fast
But it no longer stirs up his ageing spirit
His battle-worn skin has finally left the frost to settle upon his bones
His heart wrung through, run through with the torment of struggle
A tempest hurls his life into a blizzard of confusion and mystery
The storm blows, blasts his reality into fragments of disconnected anguish
Winter is with him, ice in his eyes, broken by a bitter wind
Endless nights of enduring dreams shake him to the core
In his dreamtime the universe falls upon him, swallows him whole, consumes him
Falling into a vortex vast
Pale and forlorn he feels the chill and blast of a living planet
Sees the savagery, but blind to the passionate outburst of seemingly icy malice
Blind to this time of transit, for they are all made passengers and ushered on
The reverberations of an unfolding universe
