Her stomach began to do summersaults as he got closer. He placed his hand on her cheek and they burned up. He kissed her lips gently and her heart joined in with the summersaulting.
There are certain people on this planet that I think are just here to question or criticise everything I do..
I hate seagulls. They are the hyenas of the sky. Just saying..
Flo reached the clearing and stumbled over. She lay under a tall oak tree, breathing heavily. The birds sang in the trees happily. Propping herself up against the tree, she sighed.
The moon shone onto the balcony. A cold breeze made her shudder again. Felix looked at her with sad eyes but his facial expression was stern. A tear rolled down her cheek.
"FELIX!" screeched Flo. A figure appeared from behind the rose bush. It was the Prince. "Princess." he bowed to her then made his way towards Felix who was lying on the ground, covered in dirt.
A black tuxedo, white shirt, black bowtie. She finally reached the face. The hair hung over his eyes. It was Felix. "FELIX!?" she gasped. He smiled and nodded. His hand outstretched, she took it.
Flo ended up dancing with her mother. After stepping the Queens toes several times they decided that she would let her dance partner take the lead at the ball.
Flo sat in silence. She didn't know whether to pull her hand a away or not. "I'm sure the Prince Of Terran is very lucky to have you for a bride..." his words sort of trailed off.
"Cactuses?" said the Queen, completely bewildered. Flo and Felix nodded at the same time. The Queen gave them a funny look.
The loud murmurs of bargains being struck and money being counted surrounded the young princess and her friend. As they passed, people kneeled or even threw flowers in Flo's path.
Flo stared into his eyes. They were welling up, maybe he was as shocked as she was. A tear splashed onto her cheek. She didn't know the hawk was actually clawing at Felix's back.
Flo gave up trying. Felix bent down beside her shaking his head. "Honestly Flo, I think you need a big boy to help you." they both giggled.
Florentina took the reins again and steered towards the lifeless body. She dismounted from the horse with a crackling noise from the frozen leaves under her feet.
The peaceful morning chirp of the birds was broken by loud hooves on the frosted ground.
Life is too short, smile while you still have teeth..
