Nothing Is New

The circle of life
Is a wondrous thing
Up close it's flawed
From afar, a perfect ring

The details are different
The outcomes the same
Enjoy the ride
Be glad you came

You remain unique
Though nothing is new
It's been done before
All you go through

Shades of joy
Levels of pain
After you're gone
It will happen again

Death

There’s nothing certain but death. Nor beyond nor before. We are born and live to die. Death the only gift of life. We fret; make noise, shout and cry. We skid from hills to valley and back.

Too true Sheila... πŸ‘πŸ‘

I've just reread this. It's quite sad and poignant really. πŸ‘πŸ˜ž

@MrsS @eddie12309 yeah kinda comforting when you realise that others go through the same things albeit for different reasons perhaps.. But also a little sad.. Its also a bit of a grumpy rant at the young'uns.. Even at my most angst ridden I always realised my elders were probably right through experience and although I was a naughty boy I knew i was, knew how fortunate I was despite the bad stuff and didn't think the world was ending because I had some teenage crisis πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‰

@Burrfoot Mmmm hmmmm! You've been thinking this too then! I'm def with you there!! I have family like this too - infuriatingly dramatic about the most ridiculous things, no drive in their life to become anything, then moan when they end up pregnant / out of work / in some other difficult situation (and happy to collect the govmnt money for it if there's any going!!) humph! My niece is a case in point, but i won't even go there! Sorry, rant over!!

Indeed. We were brought up to just bloody get on with it. Whether that's a good or bad view, the jury's still out. πŸ‘

@MrsS @eddie12309 indeedy.. We always say ya gotta laugh or you'll cry.. Thankfully I haven't really known anyone like it since uni days.. But there's enough on here to get my grumpy old man hat on πŸ˜‚πŸ»

You need to stop scrolling through the everything feed. Although it does provide a few laughs. 😊

@Burrfoot Too much somedays! And some (dare I say most?!) of its all just attention-seeking rubbish! Grrrrrr! Guess that's another things the Internet's done for us... (Oh my, I'M a Grumpy Old Moo!!!) πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@eddie12309 πŸ˜‚ I can't help myself.. But I'm getting better at not commenting πŸ˜‰

@MrsS @Burrfoot you should change your name to Grrrrrfoot. There's been a few priceless ones on today. Did you read the shoplifting one?

Love this πŸ’— so true!!!

@MrsS I quite like being grumpy πŸ˜‰ but yes 'when I were I nipper' if I got grounded I went in my room and maybe punched my pillow.. (And that's not a euphemism for crumply socks) now its a tragedy against human rights.. While the hard done by kid types away on their expensive I gadget

@eddie12309 @Burrfoot No... But gonna look for that now!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Grrrrfoot! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@minxyMolly thanks minxy 😊

@eddie12309 πŸ˜‚ I like that!! Oh I missed that one.. Might have to find it

@eddie12309 ok, what's it called???!

@eddie12309 @MrsS yes what's it called

@Burrfoot was scrolling through comments@MrsS I wouldn't ever recommend watching super nanny

It was part two of a addicted to shoplifting or sonething like that. Enjoy. I'm off as I'm addicted to sleep. πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

@minxyMolly I watch it to feel good about myself πŸ˜‚ I speak to parents that tell me, 'I can't keep him in, it's not my fault he goes out drinking and smashing card up'... Maybe so, but that's because there wasn't any discipline since year dot πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‚

@eddie12309 g'night πŸ‘

@MrsS I'm still trying to find it

@Burrfoot @minxyMolly πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Stopped those kind of tv profs some time ago - they were raising my blood pressure! I looked like a contestant from the Jeremy (W...) Kyle show on my sofa, all shouting and raised eyebrows!!! Not good for one's health πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@Burrfoot @minxyMolly tv * progs!!

@Burrfoot haha we watched a old clip in my sociology class (the kinda old when it was legal to smack your kids on the bum and it wasn't called child abuse) and the child on there was terrible tantrums all the time called her mom a fat bitch😳😳 we were all like wow just wow now if that was my kid....

@minxyMolly nah, I don't believe in smacking although I have 'smacked' their hand now and again.. But there's a lot more creative ways to discipline mwahaha

@MrsS πŸ‘† and Jeremy Kyles hilarious πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@Burrfoot 😱 that sounds ominous lol

@MrsS I tagged u in it.. Addiction to burglary.. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that it's a story. And it will one day lead to a career as a spy πŸ˜‚

@minxyMolly these days I just have to count to three.. I usually only get as far as two πŸ˜‚

@minxyMolly @Burrfoot I must say though, you have to wonder whether it's the families or the child at some point - I myself have a child with what I would call fairly bad behavioural problems. I do not believe in smacking per say, but have done it out of sheer 'nothing else works' when I have had days of anger and mild abuse. We've always been caring, loving and tactile with our sons, but also very strict when it comes to bad manners, etc. I am now at my wits end and so we are seeking help, which is not desperately forthcoming as yet... (for his sake and ours). When I see the families on these tv shows, I despair of how they manage to get help. Then I realise: 1. They are bl**dy useless and therefore have easily rectifiable issues and 2. They are happy to air their laundry to the world on tv (also because they are 'that way inclined'). I often question myself on this issue with my son, and I can honestly say, hand on heart, that he appears to me to have some kind of problem outside of our (and often indeed, his) control... πŸ˜” There, I said it 😳

@Burrfoot hahaha awww, a trick I learnt at my old work experience with reception is to count upwards 😊 because you can never run out of numbers, now all the barbies are packed away πŸ˜„

@MrsS I'm sure you guys will work through it and he's lucky that he will have the chance to grow out of it being steered in the right direction πŸ‘

@MrsS nature or nurture argument for the first part of your comment

@minxyMolly @MrsS right I'm gonna have a wee sneeky roll up while everyone is snoring and retire πŸ‘ goodnight peeps

@Burrfoot night night β˜ΊπŸ’€πŸ’€

@minxyMolly @Burrfoot Found it! 'some middle aged ladies were already eyeing it up...' πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Next Opuss challenge: define 'middle age πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ @Burrfoot thanks, I do hope so... Night x

@MrsS define middle age 😳 that sounds an opening for trouble πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

'Enjoy the ride, be glad you came' two of the most wonderful lines I've seen written. Sums it all up...& then some πŸ‘πŸ˜˜
