She Paints

Paint me as the mean one,
the villain of the piece,
it plays better to your audience,
I don't think it will cease.

Paint me black and white,
without shades of grey,
to see life like this is simpler,
no nuance in the way.

Paint me with a wide brush,
takes less time to do
no subtlety or detail there,
(subtlety's not for you)

Paint yourself as hero,
and such a casualty,
viewers moved to tears by this,
they might be, not me.

So paint me any way,
any way you choose,
you don't really know me,
you never will- you lose.

Auntie Jean

#household. Auntie Jean. Our dear departed. Set light to carpet. When she farted. I'd never known. Since I was a lad. Methane gas. That smelt so bad. We moved her body. Poor old soul. Noticed that.
