There you are in the starry skies
Where people gaze at your beauty
With amazement and awe

Long ago I despised you

You are a cruel existence
Destined to shine over the broken

When tears filled my eyes
You would look down on me

You were always brighter
Than the best that I could be

You are loved by many
While I was alone

I cannot reach you
Even if I wanted to

You are a masterpiece of God
Towering over my imperfection

But now I learned to accept you
Because now I understand

You are the only one
Who stayed with me

Through think and thin
You were there for me

You listened to me
When nobody would

You have never scarred me
Unlike the people around me

When I look at you with a smile
You would smile back with joy

When I felt like the world is against me
You were a comfort by my side

You were always there
Every night, everywhere

You watched over me
Like a guardian angel

Now that I know these things
I understand that your existence
Was not cruel at all

You are a kind existence
To watch over the broken,
The wounded and the hated

You do not judge our imperfection
That makes you the perfect friend
To those who are sinful,
The undesirables of society

To those who seek forgiveness
To those filled with regret
To those who are afraid
To those with a heavy past

The rebellious
The scarred
and The filthy

You are unchangable
You are kind
You are accepting
You are the Moon
