Gran's grinning like she used to again
Even though the chemo's causing her pain,
Aunt Jemima's smiling too
Though she lost her baby in 2002,
Mum and Dad beaming, telling lies,
Denying he's another on the side,
Brother Jim laughing for his life
Though drunk drivers smashed up his wife
And that's me, smiling there,
I look shorter because of my wheelchair.
Folks look at these photos and don't see us hide
Behind glittering eyes and sparkling smiles.
