Longish one! Enjoy!
Chapter 8
I'd never put much thought into what Hunters house may look like. I don't really know him too well. Would it be hidden, or in a poor part of town? How close did he even live?
'That's it. I' He motions tiredly to a house with a red door, 'live here!' He says with a shrug.
The house is situated between several others of the same dull pattern. 'What's with the door?' I ask playfully.
'Do you believe in myths? Let's just say, in my family, red fends off evils. Kind of a joke, or ironic.'
'Oh, sounds...' I brush it over with a cough. 'So is it red on the inside?'
Without hesitation he unlocks the door, and holds it out for me.
I walk in and am blinded by endless day light. I blink to adjust. The hallway walls are completely mirror, bouncing back the light from the open door.
'Call me a hardcore ghost slayer. I prefer to know when I'm being attacked, no surprise in store! All the rooms are like that, except-' I cut him off.
'Your bedroom? Figured that's the place you intend to take your... lady friends?'
He smiles. 'Well it's safe to say I don't really take girls here, or guys, I have enough imaginary friends to deal with.'
I don't know if that's a joke, or he's actually down to that craziness level.
'I want you here though, which I shouldn't. You saw what happened when I got too close to you, but I guess they know how much I like you now.'
'Are you saying I'm your crush?'
'And I'm not yours?'
'A holiday crush, it's different.'
He laughs and leads me up to his bedroom.
It's pretty standard really, a grey room, a large black quilted bed in the middle, and an assortment of drawers and desks.
I skip to the bed and sit on it carefully. 'Comfy.'
He sits next to me, we sit there for a few seconds until he picks up a pillow.
I reach for one but he whacks me with his. I lay there startled for a second, until he leans over me.
'You're more than a crush,' He says, and places his lips on mine.
