One Summer With You

Chapter 5

40 minutes of silence? Nope, the radio was on. And he sat there, in the seat next to me.
" I know I told you I won't talk but, this is awkward". I agreed with him but didn't say it. I nodded and my eyes were on the road.
" what do you want to talk about?". I asked in a calm
voice. The highway was not that full as I thought it would be. So I didn't mind talking.

" tell me about yourself". I added.
" I play rugby, I am single and I am 17. My parents made me live with my 24 years old sister because I had too many parties at home". Was he kidding? No sister wanted to live with her brother if he had way too many parties.
" but why your sister?". I asked. I saw the time, 30 minutes and he would be gone. Just a stranger.
" she has friends who likes me and the made her say yes, yes to me moving in for the summer. But she kicked me out last night".
He said with a smile as he shook his head.
" what's with the smile?". I asked as I looked at him quickly.
" she thought I had put cameras in the shower. But she didn't know I was just taking them down".
" but-". I wanted to finish but he said.

" I am going to that town cause I found a job. And I will start my own life. Don't worry". I wasn't sure if I was worried but I saw myself in the mirror and yeah, I kind of was worried.

" what about you?". He asked.
" 17, going to summerhouse, living there all summer. I work in a flower shop and..". I did not know what else to say. People who knew me always knew stuff about me cause my parents told them. But this guy, Jake. He seemed like a cool guy.

" I like you already, you don't need to continue". He said as he looked out side the window.
