Chapter 6
It was soon midnight. An hour left till then. I drove really carefully. The whole way. When we got to town it was dark and no one was out. The town had most of the things and stores a town needed. A bakery, a supermarket, a pharmacy and of course a flower shop. The town had parks and playgrounds. Schools aren't many. Maybe two.
" where do you want to go?". I stopped near the bakery, in the center of the town. " I don't know... Are there any bed and breakfasts here?". He asked while looking around then he looked at me. I saw his look. He was lost. He only thought of the job, not the place he was going to live in. " no, but of you take a cab to the town nearby. There is a hotel". I said as I looked at my phone. It was in the middle of me and him. He could call a cab, and leave.
" but Lisa, I want to stay here". Why was that my problem? He looked at me in the moonlight. His eyes looked so beautiful, I almost got lost in them. " I don't know Jake, I don't even know you that well to-". I stopped. I didn't want to give him the idea in his head. " okey, I get it. There is a bench. I will sit up all night and wait till the morning come. Then I will find my job". He shook his head as he opened the door.
I felt sorry for him. First his sister kicked him out of her home. But before that his parents did the same. He was only 17 and had to find a job and a place to live. I was a good girl and I couldn't help it. If I was in his shoes. Would I feel okey with no one helping me?
" jake, get inside". I said and he turned around and smiled. He sat back in his seat and I started the car.
