One Summer With You

Chapter 8

I walked to my room across the hall. I ran to the bed and closed my eyes. There in the dark. I heard it. The silence. Then everything went dark.

I woke up to the sunlight coming in my room. Perfect I thought. I needed to buy food. To buy other stuff too. So I took a shower in the bathroom near my room. Got dressed and took the car to town.

The bakery smelled good as I remembered it. With hot bread and nice cakes and pastries. I bought bread and some muffins.
Then I went to the flower shop and took my schedule.

Afterwards I went to the supermarket and bought all the food I needed for the week. I took the car back home and found out someone was moving upstairs. I thought it was a thief. But no thieves came to this town so it came back to me; Jake.

I was in the kitchen putting the food in the fridge and in the cabinet.
" hey, where were you?". Jake asked as he came down the stairs.
" buying these stuff. And why are you not dressed?". He was wearing sweatpants and nothing in his upper body. He was topless.

" after breakfast, calm down I won't stay here". He said as he sat down.
He took a muffin from the plate and started to eat it. He was so hungry, he ate it in a second or two.

" I don't know.. It's just, where are you going to live?". I sat in front of him and took a muffin too. It tasted so good.
" I told you, I will find a job and a home, or a place to live don't worry".

I didn't believe him, he was not going to find a job in a day. This town was too much. They had to know the person before they gave the job. I stood up and walked up my room.
