Secret Element 1.6

I found it, again, a thin level 3 book... No, longer this time. Maybe level 3-4;

Oh Rebeca, this story is worse! But I still want you to know...
Me and your father were on holiday in Hawaii, and we were sat on a beach with a friend we met on the way called Ian, he was very kind. We sat on the beach towel together, but when your father went to get ice cream, an old man asked if he knew the way to the zoo.
'Oh of course! I think it's round near that gate there,' he answered.
The old man, of course, glanced along over the pile of twigs to where the old gate was. His son was swimming free in the water. The old man chuckled.
'Oh yes, I see it! Thank you sir.' he called his son (who was apparently named James) over to where he was. Obediently, he shot out of the water,but instead of heading to his father, he darted straight up to me with his flashy surfboard.
'Hey there, beauty.' he grinned shining his whitened teeth at me. I smiled back. Your father soon got back with three vanilla ice creams. We got them and lay down tanning in the sun. Me and Ian fell asleep, and didn't know that your father had been shot. We woke up to the sound of police surrounding us. I woke up and saw a gun in my hand and a dead body of my husband beside me, who had apparently been shot dead! I had an idea it must have been James who shot him to death, but left the gun in MY hand,so I got accused of murdering my own husband, which of course I didn't! It wasn't long after that when I was sent back home to London and taken to prison. But of course, on that holiday I was already pregnant with you. Believe it or not, you were born in prison and kept there with me for seven months then taken to where you are now, Alexander Care.
