Dear life, why do you hurt me?
And stress me out so much.
You never have happy endings,
But my heart you often touch.
I'm not sure how to define you,
As you seem beyond all meaning.
Sometimes you're good but sometimes,
You're the reason that I'm screaming.
I'm vulnerable to your ways,
But you often lead me wrong.
When that happens I know I can,
Block you out with a deafening song.
You force me to watch my loved ones,
Die or suffer from pain.
But not just once you seem to do it,
Over and over again.
You make my heart slowly shatter,
As you smash my life-long dreams.
I loved you as a child but,
You're not as great as I thought, it seems.
If you seized to make me exist,
I guess I'd miss you a bit.
You're the reason for my species,
And you'd be boring without me in it.
If you plan on throwing something,
Maybe just let me know.
So then I can be prepared,
To throw things at you like a circus show.
You're adored when you show your beauty,
And the many things that you may hold.
But in times that you disappoint me,
My heart turns icy cold...
I try to give you hope,
And share with you my love.
But if things don't work down here,
I'll see you in the skies above.
