I hadn't seen my dad in eight years. He had ran away from my mum, when I was nine. At first mum went through a really hard time, but she gradually got better.
"Jones." mum growled. We'd still not forgiven him. We never would.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked, glaring at him
"I've come to tell you I'm sorry. What I did was wrong." he said
"You think, that after eight years of no contact from you we will have just forgiven you, just cos you say 'sorry'." I spat.
"Yes I know, but I'll try better this time I'll actually be a father, your still my fifteen year old girl, Megan, I beg for your forgiveness." he pleaded. I smiled at him. That smile then turned to anger.
"I'm SEVENTEEN, dad!" I shouted. He was my own father, and he had forgotten my own birthday. Not much of a dad. Dad didn't reply. He just scuttled off and drove away.
"It's alright Megan." mum soothed as she watched a tear run down my cheek. I turned round and hugged her tightly.
"Is everything alright?" I heard Colin's voice say. He was standing in the doorway. I could feel my mum nod.
"Its just some family stuff." she said patting down my hair. "You okay now?" mum asked me. I nodded. She went off upstairs so it was just me and Colin. Colin opened his arms and and I ran to him, burying my face in his hard chest. Colin made soothing noises which made me calm down.
"Thanks." my voice muffled in his chest. I could feel him smile.
"It's what I do, for someone I love!" he replied. He was so sweet! After a while of hugging Colin placed my face in his hands.
"Don't be sad, cos that will make me sad." he said. I smiled. He reached down until his lips met mine. His hard, yet, silk lips pressed against mine. My arms uncontestedly wrapped around his neck.
"Ahem." mums voice coughed from behind me. I pulled away from Colin and turned round. My cheeks warmed with embarrassment.
"Erβ¦" I didn't know what else to say. What could I say? "Hiβ¦mum." I eventually said, as if nothing had happened.
"Hiβ¦" she replied, but then walked into the laundry room. I turned back to Colin who appeared to be smirking.
"What?" I asked. He shook his head.
"Nothing, but, I better go now," he kissed me on the cheek and whispered in my ear "I love you!" I kissed him back and watched him walk out the door. I wandered into the kitchen, thinking about how I was now gonna face mum. Fortunately, she acted as if nothing happened. The morning went quickly. I did nothing, but merely watched tv and did my homework. Just after lunch I got a call from Cathy.
"Hey Cathy, what's up?"
"Can you go shopping with me today?" she sounded hopeful and I didn't want to let her down.
"Sure," I replied "Whats the occasion?"
"I'm going to a wedding next weekend and I really need a dress, I've got nothing."
"Sure I'll come with you, when?"
"At three?" she suggested "But can we go in your car? Mines really messy."
"Ok I'll pick you up at three. Bye!" I ended the cool and did the rest of my homework, until three.
I waited outside Cathy's small house. Her red front door opened and I saw Cathy's younger sister, Amy.
"Cathy!" she screamed into the house. She was only four "Megan's waiting for you."
I laughed. Cathy came out the door.
"Hey," she said getting in "Thanks do much for doing this."
"No problem."
We walked around town looking in random shops, but Cathy still hadn't found a dress.
"Isn't there 'frocks' down the corner still?" Cathy asked
"Mm, I think so."
We found it and went inside. Finally Cathy found two dresses. One was a teal coloured dress, with one strap and a black belt round the waist. The other one was a dark strapless purple dress with layers below the waist. Cathy tried both of them and decided to go with the blue one. We walked into a cafe and ordered a drink. After that we decided to go home. I dropped Cathy off and then went home myself. For the rest of the day I just lazed around on the sofa. I helped mum prepare dinner, chicken soup. I laid the table an made the drinks. We sat there in silence slurping our soup.
"Nice soup." I broke the silence
"You love Colin, then?" mum asked bodly
"Mum!" I shrieked "How is it your business what I do with my love life?"
"Because you kiss in the doorway of my house and your my daughter!"
I splashed my bowl in the sink and stormed upstairs.
