New Life

She'd been abused physically and mentally for years on end.
They ripped her from her old abusive life and hid her away somewhere new
She pulled her sleeves down as, she walked down the street that was unknown to her, hoping to hide the scars.
They pushed her to far, she fell hard over the edge of sanity.
She tries to hide the pain as she walks the halls.
She tries to forget the way people stare at her.
She tries to cover the bruises and scars.
She knows that they will see her tears and call her bluff.
She whispers to herself "I have to suck it up to stay" she repeats this over and over as she lowers her head and her walk turns into a run.
