My sister's 12th birthday party started out like any other birthday party. Friends and family were over to celebrate, presents were opened and cake was eaten. However once my mom left for work, everything went downhill.
My sister Amy had five friends over, and I was babysitting my nieces and my nephew. A friend of mine was also living with us at this time. We were all downstairs in mine and Amanda's room which happened to be the basement, telling scary stories in the candle light.
I was on a chair videotaping everybody. I looked through the camera at my bed where my niece and nephew were sleeping when I saw a demonic face just above them. I gasped and closed my eyes. Amanda asked what was wrong and when I opened my eyes I saw everybody looking at me. "Nothing." I replied looking back at my bed. I was relieved to see that nothing was there. "Just my imagination." I said finally. Amanda stared at me for awhile. "I'm fine, keep reading" I said.
She looked down at the camera in my lap. "I thought you were filming this?" she asked. "The light's not on." the kids in the room looked at me. I looked down at the camera, like she said it was no longer on. I stared up at her. She looked at me. "I must have turned it off, when I put it down." I said. At this point I was scared, because I know for a fact I hadn't turned it off. But I just turned it back on and went back to filming everybody.
Amanda continued reading the stories. She had just begun reading reading another scary story, when I turned the camera toward Amy and her friend. They were lying on Amanda's bed. Something by their feet caught my eye. I moved the camera to see a face popping out of the wall. For about 2 minutes I held the camera there and I had closed my eyes so I wouldn't see it anymore. But I knew that everybody else knew I was scared.
I quietly told everybody to get upstairs. I had began to shake with fear. I had tossed the camera to my other sister Ronnie and ran to turn on the lights. "Upstairs now." I shouted. I grabbed my niece and Amy had grabbed my nephew. We all rushed upstairs and into Ronnie's room.
I ran back out and down the hall to get my other nieces. Amanda's cousin who had slept over had fallen asleep in the same room. Once I got there I heard her crying. When I opened the door and turned on the light, she was standing up on the bed, crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she had told me that a man with a hat was trying to hurt her. She pointed to the closet and told me he was in there.
I told her to go down the hall to Amanda's room. I went to wake up my oldest niece and as I reached for her, I felt a sharp pain run up my arm. I pulled back and saw three long red marks going up my arm. I called for Amanda and told her to get my nieces.
I left the room and went into the bathroom. I put my arm under cold water and then dried it off. The marks were still there, when I left the bathroom.
Going back to Ronnie's room I had to pass the room where my niece and Amanda's cousins were. The room was dark but I heard something coming from inside the darkness. I ran to the room, scared out of my wits. I swung open the closed door and slammed it shut.
Amy's friends were sitting there crying with the camera in their hand. "Why the heck didn't you tell us there was something down there." Amanda had asked. I looked at her, she too was crying. "Im sorry, I thought it was just my imagination." She grabbed the camera from Amy's lap. "This is real" she said. I saw the same face coming out of the wall, but what I missed when I had closed my eyes was that it moved around and even tried to grab at the camera.
Just then the lights turned off. Everybody was scared, except for my nephew. He was laughing. When the lights came on he was standing in front of the mirror. Amanda grabbed him and handed him to me.
It was about 2am when my step-dad came home. At that time everybody but me and Amanda had fallen asleep. We ended up sleeping in the living room, because we both refused to go downstairs.
