WHEN I ACT I become somebody new,
A change that is deep and felt all the way through.
WHEN I ACT it's a buzz that resonates along,
It is so, so right, that it feels so wrong.
WHEN I ACT I'm not me, and I just don't exist,
I'm a character on a programme, one in a list.
WHEN I ACT it's a rush and it's what I love most,
Feeling emotions - of which there are always a host.
WHEN I ACT I don't worry, it's just me on the stage,
Me and the crowd and my lines on that page.
I DON'T CARE
that my parents aren't happy for me.
I DON'T CARE
that they won't, and never will see.
BECAUSE it's what I am, and it's here I'm alive,
On the stage with my cast mates, it's where I can thrive.
I WILL ACT till I drop,
Then I'll act a bit MORE.
I WILL ACT until my fingers,
My feet and neck's sore.
Just try and stop me.
