I haven't met your eyes yet,
Suppose you could not see,
I haven't seen your 'perfect' lips,
How 'perfect' could they be?
I don't know what your hair's like,
Red, or black, or brown,
Or is it styled with sweeping bangs,
To hide a clever frown?
I haven't seen your figure yet,
Be slim, bulky or tall,
I haven't heard your dulcet tones,
How far (in love) will I fall?
I don't know what you dislike,
What you fancy, what you preach,
I don't know what you want to do,
To run? Explore? To teach?
The fact is, I don't know you yet,
Not sure I ever will,
But hope's a jolly, happy thing,
And I'll never get my fill.
