Not all that glitters is gold. Diamonds glitter. Tears glitter. Don't be fooled by the refraction. But then again, think. Evil and money are not one. It is not the axis or root.
It's not cold, hard currency. We feel the urge to personify what is so coveted, without realising we are worshipping nothing more than paper.
We place so much faith in paper and live our lives in longing for as much as we can get. We always want more. If I won the lottery. If I had a pay rise. If... If is never enough.
Money cannot feel and think. It cannot be evil. It's the way it's used and abused, by people who are so easily swayed. They see the glitter and are fooled. They are influenced by themselves. They see their reflections and believe they have found success.
I refuse to apologise for attempting to instil a sense of logical understanding and careful analysis on the chaos and madness surrounding the harsh reality of money. It's not evil. I'm going to repeat this until I'm sure the point is across. It can be used for good. Charities and even just your average joe can change someone's life with a couple of pounds. It sounds ridiculous but if you are living on the streets, tired, cold and alone, one or two pounds could mean the difference between a hot drink and maybe some food or going hungry. Again.
Money can make a positive difference, but it works best when we give it away to help someone less fortunate than ourselves. That's what some people miss. Success cannot be measured by our bank balance. If you want to find the true meaning of happiness and strike the type of gold that changes lives, look to your heart for joy, innocence and most of all, love. Money isn't evil. It can be used an instrument of evil, that people who are influenced by greed and power wield recklessly, or it can be used as a sword of light used by those with integrity to defend those who cannot defend themselves. Life is worth so much more than money and gold.
