Running from oblivion,
No escape and yet we try,
To hold on to what we have here,
We won't let it wither and die.
To give up and just leave,
Would be foolish, a crazy thought,
And yet as we strive to protect so much,
It could all just be for naught.
I don't know what's over the edge,
Our future, it's unclear,
We look into each others eyes and smile,
"We'll be alright, my dear."
So we take that leap, into the unknown,
They always say ignorance is bliss,
What we don't know won't hurt us,
Or it will be you that I will miss.
