A Cause Worth Fighting For

Storm the breach and be a hero,
Hit the ground and be a zero,
Raise your weapon and fire true,
Or freeze and realise death is due.

Pull back the string and watch it fly,
As others fall and more men die,
Or watch it snap between your fingers,
And close your eyes as death now lingers.

Grasp your sword and draw it fast,
Then fight until the very last,
And despite the fact that you're a goner,
At least you will have died with honour.

Don't ever think nor question your deeds,
And never bite the hand that feeds,
Stay loyal and bow before your lord,
Fight for him and receive reward.

Fight in this battle and freedom is yours,
Or maybe after a few more wars,
You're enslaved to me so it doesn't matter,
Just fight now or watch your blood splatter.

It doesn't matter about fighting cause,
Soldiers will always fight without pause,
Even if the war is unjust and wrong,
Overly bloody or even too long.

There has always been war and there always will,
Humans will find new ways to kill,
And find new reasons to justify,
Why more good men need to fight and die.

Be it for freedom, honour or even fear,
Defending loved ones when enemies are near,
Souls turned soldiers will gladly fight,
Even if its wrong or a crime outright.
