Happy?

Why do we (human beings) choose to use drugs and alcohol?
Is it because we seek to achieve out of body experiences to avoid our own boring, corrupt and unfair lives?
It's sad to think about.
What is the goal in life?
Happiness?
When we use drugs and alcohol to make things simpler, is that because life is just too complex and overwhelming that we need to get high to break it down, to forget about it?
If the pursuit of happiness is a birth right among human beings, why should we need drugs and alcohol to experience it.
It should be the focus of foreword movement and exploration. Instead turmoil over power and greed ravishes the world, dampening people's chance of achieving happiness.
For me, being high just shows me that I could be on another level of happiness just by forgetting the turmoils of the world and material things.
Sober Happiness, imagine that.
Food for thought.

I sound like a damn hippie.
