The first casualty to this seasons premier league will send a message to the five teams above them that the fight to survive is not over. Wolves became the first to depart from the premier league after 3 seasons in the top flight. Their 2-0 home defeat today to title chasing Man City ended all doubts of a late season revival. It's a shame to see Wolves fall first, but the inevitable was upon Wolves just after christmas. They clearly have not done well this season despite former manager Mick McCarthy bringing in some arguably good players. This wasn't enough however and today ended a noble fight to remain in English footballs top tier.
