I open my book. Breathe in its scent of new paper, and sigh. This is the first new book I've had, apart from schoolbooks, but they hardly count. The books from the library were old and tattered with remains of people's dinner stuck between the pages.
I start to read the first page:
"The plot is the most important part of a book. A story, no matter how well written, has to have a good idea behind it. It must have a beginning, a middle and an end."
At this point my mind begins to wander. I flick ahead a few pages, until I come to a chapter entitled ' Ideas For Your Story.'
I begin to read, engrossed. It has the different genres underlined, with plots below. I've tried most genres but nothing with vampires, it's never really appealed to me. "Ah, well," I think,"variety is the spice of life, as they say."
I turn on my outdated computer and start typing.

I love cats, dogs, Harry Potter, blue, chocolate and books! ;) I am 12 years old, and I hate maths. I have an amazingly cute dog, but I want a cat too, even though my dad hates them!
