Last night at a theater in Aurora Colorado a gunman entered through a side exit at around 12:30am armed with a knife, rifle, handgun, and tear gas.
(Ava's POV) I turned in the mirror, holding my shirt up so I could see my stomach from the side. I turned from front to side, trying to see a difference.
The necklace continued to tug and strain the other direction, nearly choking me as I turned to follow Gabriel.

I'm working on a second part to "Born a Saint" which is somewhere in my list of Opuss's. I wrote that piece about a year ago, and never thought to go back to it until now.
-The trickster is a clown, a mischief maker. He provides the comic relief that the story needs to offset tension. -He keeps things proportional.
-The shadow is a negative figure and is usually the antagonist. -Not all antagonist are villains, sometimes he's a good guy who's goals disagree with the hero's.
-The shapeshifter changes roles or personalities, often in significant ways and is hard to understand.
-The role of the herald is to announce the challenge which begins the hero on his/her journey.
-The threshold guardian is the first obstacle in the hero's journey. H is the gateway to the new world the hero must enter to change and grow. -He usually isn't the story's antagonist.
-The mentor is a character who aids or trains the hero. The essence of the mentor is the wise old man or woman. The mentor represents the wiser and more godlike qualities within us.
-The essence of the hero is not bravery or nobility but self sacrifice. -The mythical hero is one who will endure separation and hardship for the sake of his clan.
~Return with the Elixir~ -The hero comes back to the ordinary world, but this would be meaningless unless he/she brought back the elixir..
~Resurrection~ -The hero emerges from the special world, transformed by his/her experience.
~The Road Back~ -The hero isn't out of the woods yet. The hero is pursued by vengeful forces. If the hero hasn't managed to reconcile with his father or gods ect. they may come raging after him..
~The Return~ -Having survived death, the hero takes possession of the treasure he/she came to seek..
~The Supreme Ordeal~ -This is the moment at which the hero touches bottom. He/she faces the possibility of death, brought to the brink in a fight with a mythical beast.
~Approach to the inmost cave~ -The hero comes at last to a dangerous place, often deep underground where the object of the quest is hidden..
~Allies and Enemies~ -The hero is forced to make allies and enemies in the special world, and to pass certain tests and challenges that are part of his/her training..
~The Road of Trials~ -The road of trials is a series of tests, tasks, or ordeals that the person must undergo to begin the transformation.
~The Threshold Demon~.
~Crossing the Threshold~ -At the end of act one, the hero commits to leaving the ordinary world and entering a new region or condition with unfamiliar rules and values..
~Meeting with the Mentor~ -The hero comes across a seasoned traveler of the worlds who gives him or her training, equipment, or advice that will help on the journey.
~Refusal of the Call~ -The hero feels the fear of the unknown, tires to turn away from the adventure, however briefly. Alternately another character may express the uncertainty and danger ahead..
~The Call to Adventure~ -Something shakes up the situation, either from external pressures or from something rising up from the deep within, so the hero must face the beginning of change..
~The ordinary world~ -The hero, uneasy, uncomfortable or unaware is introduced sympathetically so the audience can identify with the situation or dilemma.
