The night is bleak and lonely,
And the stars aren't out to play,
Some dark creature has been called upon,
To tuck the moon away.
There's another net without a seam,
Within my hand, I hold it tight,
I'm fishing for another dream,
Enveloped in the dead of night.
The boat I stand upon right now,
I don't think it exists,
In fact, I know that if I just speak,
The world will set a-drift.
So much cruelty in a waking,
Such reflection in a fall,
It's the night that ends the blazing sun,
You just can't have it all.
Simple ripples in the river,
Bring alight the hopper's cricks,
In a boat, I'm fishing out for dreams,
Within the river Styx.
