Which Is The Burden?

I have so many aches and pains already,
But the best are those that come from being wrapped around your sholders.
I am thankful they are broad enough to carry me.

Just a little longer, please
You heard the doctor say that for my disease there is no cure,
No treatment,
And that it progresses quite quickly.

Sit and rest.
May I fix you a cup of tea for a moment?
I've lived this long, albeit interrupted life, for four decades now,
In three states,
Perhaps I might tell you some of what I learned?

What's that?
It's time to go?
Yes, I think I can wrap myself upon your shoulders a little longer.

Do you hear that?
The sound of raindrops in puddles?
The breeze teasing you as it plays with you hair?
The bird cooing its melody over and over , , ,
fervently , , ,
Purposefully , , ,
Wondering, does he have time to listen now that his shoulders are barren?

The initials of my username--MSA--are also the initials of my disease (MSA/Shy-Drager Syndrome). Once upon a time I was a writer and because of it, travelled the world. Now you may notice typos, grammatical errors, and the like that can be attributable to anything from my vision problems, screens that aren't big enough, trying to write when I can't sleep (now that I have time for it I can't sleep), and the like. That is half the list of reasons for my writing faux pas. But I'm still writing and still living as I can that's most comfortable for me.
