He was destroyed by them,
Shut down and turned off,
Thanks to their cruel and mocking laugh,
His dreams were shattered,
His confidence in tatters,
And he cried as he slowly shuffled home.
All he ever wanted was to be famous,
All he ever wanted was to be known,
He wanted to out-do, and he wanted to out-prove,
But instead they had proven him wrong.
So he stumbled home, tears streaming down,
And trudging through the the harsh downpour,
Then he looked up, and somehow smiled as he saw,
The clouds briskly breaking apart.
The tears stopped falling, the rain stopped pouring,
And the Sun injected warmth into his world,
For when he stared up, he gasped once again,
Because it was then that he saw his dreams soaring.
