Writing in my diary, my scribblings lit by the warm glow of my lamp, I'm comfortable and warm.
Suddenly a creak echoes through the room, a creak of a foot on the stairs. I sit up startled, as the realisation dawns that I thought I was home alone.
Panicked, I knock my diary aside and switch off my lamp, looking around for somewhere to hide. Another creak, this time louder forces my decision and I crumple myself under my bed.
I start to shiver uncontrollably as I feel the breeze of my door swinging slowly open. The creaking has stopped, replaced by the clicking of a flick knife.
I shuffle as close to the wall as I can get, close to tears, wishing I had my phone to hand, wishing I hadn't turned out the lamp, hoping my last minutes on Earth wouldn't be now.
Silence; the clicks had stopped. I shut my eyes, hoping desperately this was just a nightmare. A warm gust of air hit my face, causing me to open my eyes, and see to my horror, in the dim glow a rabid face leering at me, mouth open.
'You made that too easy for me, let's have some fun...'
