If I had to be a fruit,
A pomegranate would be me,
I'd grow in the sun, and have some fun,
On a small, bush-like tree.
Though plain on the outer,
They're wonderful inside,
A group of seeds, like gleaming beads,
A pomegranate hides.
I'd love to be a pomegranate,
They're beautiful and red,
Though in Greek mythology,
They're the fruit of the dead.
Ancient Egyptians thought them marvellous,
A sign of ambition and wealth,
Their tangy taste, won't go to waste,
Tasty, and good for your health.
I love their sour flavour,
But sweet at the same time,
The seeds are crunchy, juicy and munchy,
On the inside they do shine.
Pomegranates are my favourite,
Pomegranates are the best,
Better than all other food, I'd be one if I could,
I'd choose it any day over all the rest.
