Starting Anew

A new year is coming
And new things it brings
At the stroke of midnight the angels will sing

Single last year
And single the next
I should be feeling happy
But I'm left feeling perplexed

That New Year's kiss
Will it ever be real
Or will I be stuck alone
As I sometime often feel

But no...
I'll focus on the good things
Like great family & friends
Not unhappy endings

For if not this year
Then surely the next
After all
Why waste time feeling perplexed

So as the clock ticks
From ten to one
We'll raise our glasses
For the year will have begun

We'll laugh and cry
Another year that's gone by
Enjoy the fresh start
Hanging out with those close to our hearts

The New Year will come
Yes it'll soon be here
So lets enjoy the moment
And be filled with good cheer
