War

Gunshots pierce the quiet of the night
Mothers hide their children in fright
Pure air blackened by ash
From explosions not very far
Families torn apart
Never knowing when their next going to attack
Never knowing if you will ever again get a hug
War has torn the country apart
What do they fight for I ask?
Truth is no cause is worth the emotional scars
Frightened civilians have no where to run
Never knowing who will next point the gun
Never knowing who else they're going to loose
Before the time and strength is put to good use,
To end the war and the sorrow
And to build a new tomorrow.
