Keep Writing...

Today, I read a story that I was working on 8 or more years ago. It was embarrassing to me, and hated it. But, I told my teacher I'd send it to her, because I wanted to share it, since it was kind of where I felt I began as a writer to some degree, almost. Or, at least the story that actually made me want to write some in the first place. I wonder what she will think of it, since it's in a way, to show my progress as a writer for me...

I know for me, I should not be thinking of the past, at all. Also, I am sure most of you might say that I shouldn't be embarrassed by it, though I think you would be too, if it was yours. I guess this post serves to reinforce that, when you get older, and you look back when you were younger, you may think of how stupid you really did look, and how horrible of a writer you truly were, but... We all started from somewhere, and would not be writers for that reason. It's embarrassing, yes, but, it's good. Don't give up. Some people actually do like the work of young people, simply because it's unique. In a way, it's pure, untainted, it holds a child's dream so eloquently that can't be captured when lost, least I think...

Anyways, do keep writing, no matter what. One day, you may look back, and surprise yourself.

Words will take you far, but it's the feeling that drives the words that will take you further. There's a magical place, a realm that doesn't exist outside of writing. Keep reading to find it.
