The test is near.
I close the door to our broken down cottage and breathe out. Opening my eyes I expect the worst but see nothing.
They're gone.
I'm headed for the Human Test. Every eighteen months they hold them to determine the intruders from the true inhabitants of Earth.
Two hundred and three years ago, unidentified species arrived by the craft load. And as soon as they touched Earth, they became the Unidentifiable.
The Unidentifiable are, as the name suggests, unspottable among humans. They are exactly alike, down to DNA patterns. Clones, maybe, but the question still rises over centuries.
The Unidentifiable are the responsible beings for most chaos wreaked on Earth. Ever since the world- wide earthquake pulled the continents together to one large island, we call our home Earth. No countries, towns, cities. Just Earth.
I'm on my own. My father has left for one of his business trips- his only escape from the Human Tests. If you work for the vital, you are undesired.
I pull back my hair and secure it in a ribbon. The entire street is deserted, each resident probably already stationed at the nearest Test Faculty. I breathe slowly to calm my shaking hands and start towards the heart of Earth.
