Call Of The Darkness

Chapter 2

"No, let me come with her, no" Fortis shouts, picks up a stick and attacks Resonare but Umbra turns around quickly and attacks him with a temperamental paralyser thing and he collapses to the floor having some sort of spasm but he could be having a fit but Umbra keeps the device on him,
"He is having a saccade" I screech and Umbra releases the button on the device and opens the doors on a hover van and shoves me in my eyes still fixed on Fortis' unconscious body. It is best for my own safety if I strap myself in but their is no sort of belt or anything.
"Is he alive?" I scream at The Caeruleus, "I need to know",
"I'll check" Resonare says and checks the pulse on Fortis' neck, "He's very much alive but he won't be up and running for a few weeks". I let out a sigh of relief and they closed the doors leaving me in the darkness apart the the little rays on light through the bars separating me from the drivers.
Strangely in the corner of the van was a hammock so I decide to sit in it and get some beauty sleep, maybe I'll get my extra five minutes. Suddenly the van lurches forward and I quickly jump into the hammock and lie down. As we travelled the hammock rocked me to sleep but I stayed awake wondering about Fortis and the fact I'll never see him again. I'll never see him again if I'm alive or dead. It's unlikely I'll be alive for another week. There is only one thing I can do. Escape. But I need to wait until the time is right. Or when the traffic is right. I get up and look out the window of the van and see the vast road cramed with cars, vans, trucks and buses all of them hovering about two feet off the ground.
"Wow" I whisper to myself, what has this world become, so much that I didn't know. Right now I need to think about when I move and how to break the lock. Hair grips. Wonderful, hair grips my best friend, joking, it's Crystal a girl in my class.

I slip the grip out my hair and place it in the lock and twist it. It works. Keeping the door shut is very hard while trying to look out the window to keep your timing right. The outer lane, yes. As the van moved closer to the outer lane I looked out and saw the beautiful forest, my home not this dirty city. Suddenly the van reached the outer lane and turned a sharp right turn causing me to scream as the door opened flinging me onto a bush. Wow. I'm out. Got to move quickly before they manage to turn around. This seems impossible since it is on the motorway but The Caeruleus have the laws stretched for them. Lucky pigs. Running through the forest towards Kaylyle is incredibly hard since I'm extremely unfit and having Fortis around would be a great help. I've got to face it he is unconscious at home. I look at the sky to help me with time and I've got to stop for lunch soon but I can't, I'm not safe. I keep running until the whole world is spinning and I end up collapsing.

I wake up. Staving. Tired. Aching.
"Parva" I voice says from above me but I can't get up,
"Fortis?, Claudere?, Iratus?, Olly?, Vivos?" I mutter,
"No" the voice replies and a little figure drops from a tree, "It's me, Cap. Kisskat, you alright".
"How could I be I just fell out a van, landed on a bush and I think I blacked out",
"How's Fortis?" she asks,
"The last time I saw him he was unconscious outside my house" I reply,
"What happened" he says shocked,
"The Caeruleus took me and he tried to defend me by coming with me" I say,
"Who did it" she asks
"The leader" I answer,
"Lubrica won't do anything like that" she says confused,
"She's dead, Umbra's leader now, he was the second in command",
"Why" she asks,
"Fortis and I were spotted" I say "She tried to save us".
"Ok" she said and I knew she was sort of speechless. "Let's get you home",
"I can't", they know where I live and that would be the first place they would check and I can guarantee that Fortis will be killed if he try's to protect me again" I explain,
"I'll make lunch, you just stay there" she says and goes to collect daisies, roses, jasmine, clover and ginger to cook up. I love jasmine leaves and ginger exotically with noodles, yum.

I must have fallen asleep again because I woke up with a shake of the shoulders.
"Oh my Parva. Have you slept a wink. Here's lunch, well, tunch" she says and I sit my back against the tree,
"I do sleep" I reply,
"Clearly not a lot" she says rolling her eyes and picks up her tunch.
"You make good stew" I say smiling but I don't think it would taste that good if I wasn't starving,
"My mum always said hunger is a great sauce".

Sleep was what I eventually wanted and what I really needed so I hoped that I would have a good night, if I'm lucky.
