Chapter 16

We followed Lubrica's directions that were stored in our minds as we turned through the everlasting corridors.
"It all looks the same" I ask him confused,
"We are going the right way" he says to me but it isn't convincing,
"We are lost, look" I say not buying anything he just said to me,
"What?,oh" he says shocked and there we were standing in front of a steel wall. Dead end.
"What did you say about us going the right way?" I say smiling hiding how cross I was at him.
"Look" he says pointing upwards,
"Fortis your a genius" I say looking at the trapdoor 5ft above us,
"What?, I didn't, we were, yes, yes I did, I did" he says confused but yet admitted he did but I did hear the first bit and all I can do is smile at his forgetfulness because without that we might not be here.
"Ok, how do we get up there" I ask,
"Stay still" he replies and it sounded like the most ludicrous, ridiculous, amazingly scary metal thing I had ever heard and then I realised. Damn. Suddenly I was flipped up into the air onto Fortis' shoulders,
"No, put me down, no,no,no" I yell at him and he has no reply but just throws the metal expander up to me,
"Alright but no more lifting" I say to him annoyed. I lifted up my right arm that had the expander in and pointed it at the key hole. I pressed the triangular button on it and the whirring noise began. Golly gosh, the key hole just turned to a square hole.
"Put your hand through it and lift the bolt" he tells me and so I do, slipping my hand through the gap quietly relived that my hands fits, lifted the bolt quietly, lift the door quietly. Sorry not quietly at all.
"What's that noise?" a voice echoes. Crap.
"Quick, quick, quick" Fortis yells at me and I pull myself through the door. As soon as I'm in, I grab Fortis' hand a pull him up,
"Two prisoners are trying to escape" the same voice echoes but but louder and much clearer,
Fortis is dragging his legs up through the door when he kicks his leg in my face and then rolled on the floor at my knees.
"Parva, I'm sorry" he says and hugs me, he must have noticed, "No need to cry" he says , great, my eyes are watering.
"I have got unfinished business to do darling" he says and smiles, leans over the open door and starts to pull faces at the soldiers, "Can't keep us in" he chants,
"Fire" a commander yells and bullets fire us, one hits its target, Fortis' hair,
"Hey get off the hair" he yells at them and I shut the door and put the bolt on it. Fortis was right there was a huge difference in length of his hair.
"Next time if you don't want it, don't ask for it" I say rolling my eyes,
"Wow, we are in the same house that the other passage way in, wicked" he says,
"Ok let's go" and we crept to the other trapdoor and slipped through it, down the ladder into the darkness.
"Race you" he says and we run down the straight corridor to the other side of the wall surrounding Cinereo and obviously he let me win.

The day light burned our eyes, not literally otherwise Fortis would be lying on the floor screeching like a banshee.
"Let's go searching" he says to me, "I can't wait to be back in Kaylyle". Oh my has he forgotten that he was kicked out but hopefully upon his return he would be taken back.
"Look out for a blonde rabbit" he says to me,
"What? How do you know",
"DNA error, quite common" he explains "I met her when I accidentally on purpose caught her in my net"
"Ok" I say wondering what a blonde rabbit looks like but I can't seem to put it together in my mind, blonde rabbit, whatever next, blue cow, pink sheep, purple dog.
Day light was drawing to a close and we settled down for the night between a a tree and a bush,
"Night Fortis" I say to him finding a comfortable root to rest my head on,
"Sweet dreams" he says and softly kisses me on my forehead and puts his arm around me, "No need to worry,

When the light comes,
It will tap you to wake,

Come tomorrow,
Tomorrow has come".

I slowly drifted off the sleep, knowing Fortis was there keeping all worries and harms at bay. When the light came after a good long sleep, I sat up tired but yet refreshed and Fortis was still sleeping quietly beside me and I couldn't help but let out a aww,
"Good morning Kisskat" a voice says and I jumped with fear not shock,
I manage to see the person who the voice had come from, suddenly my vision adjusted to the light and sat cross legged on the ground only two feet away. Captionem. She had come to finish me off while my boyfriend was sleeping unaware of what is going to happen to me and maybe him.
