Water Lilly

Its so cold mommy, she said in mandarin. It's so cold mommy, as the junk began to sink.

Go to sleep now little princess, her mother had then said.
The little girl looked up, bemused, "will I wake up if I'm dead?"

Her father then looked down at her, and gently took her hand, "when you wake up we'll be waiting, on beaches of pure white sand.

She gave a big smile, closed her eyes, and then said:
I'll go to sleep now daddy,
The sea can be my bed.
The waves can be my blanket, and my dreams will be the tide.
When I wake up on the white sand, I'll know you'll be by my side.
