I chanced across a Nothing one day
The poor thing had nothing to say
It's mouth was not there
In fact nothing was spare
Not even a spout
For words to get out
It did not have a soul
It was neither warm nor cold
It was not alive nor dead
Nor the living dead instead
It was not a fourth dimensional moment in time
Perhaps only something, or nothing in this rhyme
It wanted to do something
But ended up with nothing
Something for its debut
Anything would do
It really was a wonder
So much on nothing to ponder
It tried walking away
In a funny sort of way
But could not move at all
Not even a small crawl
So its worried thoughts grew
As it had nothing to do
"Nothing" thought Nothing
And found it quite boring
Because its mind was so small
That it was not there at all
So it found it better not to think
And disappeared without a blink
So I continued my journey
My search for a nonentity
As my thoughts of nothing
Were not something, but nothing
And it had only happened by chance
That Nothing came into existence
