Rubix

[As promised, here are my feelings detailing the correlation between Rubix cubes and relationships]

Are we ever all that different
You and I?
Comfort found in
Carter
Cash
And red wine boxes
Drained
Left shaken
Folded flat
And sheets
Wriggling legs between that cool
New empty space
When one had left our bed
Revelling; ecstatic

Rules that govern faith
And sex
Broken as to savour moments
Weekends stolen
Sickies
Phone calls
Lobotomies
We cheat
Ignore this time apart
And start afresh
Informed
Afraid
Relaxed
Held still

I look at you
A Rubix cube
Then stoop to pick
Unstick each colour
From their squares
Finding where
The primes
Become
A whole
