Once there was a girl
Who walked alone in space.
She's the one in the summer
We call old Golden Face.
She tiptoed with the stars
And sang a song to rain.
She smiled with the man on the moon
And hummed the bitter refrain.
Always by herself
Until one day they came,
The animals who looked so wild
Were really the same.
So they ran around the rivers
And far past the waterfall,
And finally she was happy,
And her smile lightened us all.
