Youth's Promise

I look at us and all we are
And just want to freeze time
We're drunk on youth and full of
Hope with the future on our mind

So much promise and so much pressure
The seams begin to strain
I take the brunt and hold on tight
To the pieces that remain

I'll struggle to do all that I can
To make the world stand still
If there was a God who listened
He would bend to this will

Our faces fresh and hearts aglow
Every day a mystery
With eyes fixed firmly forward
We defy the threat of history

Life is full of tests and trials
Created to push and pull
But we must face the moon and stars
Just keep our dreams fulfilled
