20 April 2012

I've been watching lots of great movies during my holiday this year. Most of them are past years movies. One movie which entertain me the most is The Artist. I'm not interested in this film at first because its a silent black and white movie which I've never come across in my entire life. But then it has won the best film in the 64th Academy Awards in 2012 along with the best actor, Jean Dujardin of France. I was quite shocked at first to learn that he's French and for the record, he's only the second male actor to win the Academy Awards. So I was very curious about this movie. There must be something unique about it that made it a winner. And I decided to watch. My sister only watch it for the first 30 minutes coz there was no voice at all. But for my turn, it turns out to be unexpectedly amazing. It's like love at first sight. Haha. They said that Dujardin acted almost the entire movie silently (just miming his mouth to look like he's talking). It took a lot of efforts to make various kind of facial expression without voice. Another aspect that thrilled me to watch this movie was its special effects or I called it as its mirror effects. The mirror trick made me confused sometimes while watching the movie. Shortly, the story was about George Valentin, a popular silent movie actor who later met his biggest crisis in his life. Its about fame and popularity. Fortunately it has a happy ending. The End.
