15 March 2013
Sick of the dark, sick of the cold Hate the depressing flat gray
Aches and pains, feel so old I hate living this way
Work, problems and stress All I seem to remember
What an ugly, common mess All began in September
I need the feeling of life To know there is a bigger world
Where together we conquer strife Where I can spread my wings, unfurl
I long to feel the sun at my back I wanna hear the sea breathe
I yearn to see the thunder crack I wish the snow would leave
Things have sunk in the early spring mud Slowed and lost all direction
Need a big ol' flood One to escape on
Head to the brimming sea! Set sail for a secret island
So no difficulties can find me And pull on my hand
Fish and creatures infinite People, birds, sand and water
Sun bright and lit Making the blood hotter
Comforting sand, stuck in your toes Warm and soft as a bed
Come here when life has its lows Watch the sun color the sky red
Flowing waves, squealing gulls, Salty breezes, sparkling rocks
The sea takes away time's tolls Releasing society's petty locks.
Goin' on vacation soon, CANNOT wait for a break from the drab gray winter. Could use some sun, finally...
