Leaves break through As buds burst forth And birds fill woods with happy songs I sit; admire for hours on end When days are hot, and sweet and long

Then days pass As life moves on Nature's in full bloom, I walk through forests, beech and pine Under dappled, pale light of the moon.

When day breaks I rise once more Admiring natures allure I'm sad that it soon shall be gone But the forest will endure

Winter comes Once autumn's past The forest sleeps again Emerging to the ever nearing spring And nature will remain.

This is the unfinished, unrevised idea for the competition, I am actually probably going to use a different poem but I hope you liked it.
